Current Wait Times

Effective 9/3/2024, DHCS stopped directly submitting new ALW applications from SNFs or Hospitals that meet the ALW reserve capacity criteria for long-term care stays (SNF or Hospital stays of 60 or more days). All applications for institutional transfers must be submitted to the waitlist.

APS

All applicants in a SNF with an active Ombudsman case are placed on the Ombudsman waitlist. The current estimated wait time is 1 to 2 months

All applicants with an active Adult Protective Service (APS) case are placed on the APS waitlist. The current estimated wait time is 6 to 7 months.

SNF/Hospital

All persons admitted to a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or hospital will be placed on the waitlist. Once admitted for 60 days or more, patients/residents may be discharged from the facility and still maintain their institutional standing when released from the waitlist. The current estimated wait time is 7-12 months.
